In the beginning
Before you start looking up all the tricks the big gurus are doing to get visitors, make sure your site is optimized for the search engines. Doing this can slide you past most of your competition on the search engines.1. Choose keywords that are relevant to your webpage, keep things focused.
2. Make sure your title has you keyword phrase(s) only, NO FLUFF.
3. Put your main keyword phrase within the h1 tags at the top of your page and the second most important keyword phrase within the h2 tags
4. Your content should be of high quality and original using your keyword phrase(s). Please don't overdo it because the engines will consider this spam.
5. You can place your main keyword in the footer (ie. within the copyright notice).
Following these tips will put you on the road to increased rankings and then you can utilize all the great tools and tricks the gurus use to get to the top.
